Southwest Airlines has unveiled the first image of a new-look interior for aircraft to be delivered starting early next year.

Southwest describes the color scheme as deep-blue tones with sky-blue accents. The Southwest heart logo will be woven throughout the carpet and will also be on seat headrests.

Seats in the new interiors will be augmented by an adjustable headrest as well as holders for personal electronic devices.

Southwest also said the seats, manufactured by Recaro, are designed "for ultimate comfort while maximizing seat width and overall support."

Recaro said wider seats will be facilitated with a new armrest design. Travel Weekly has asked Southwest for specifics on how much wider seats will be.

Recaro also said the new seats will have ergonomically enhanced seat bottoms and a backrest with lumbar support.

"Our new seat will be a great addition to the Southwest customer experience, as its durable design and comfort features will serve passengers well," Recaro CEO Mark Hiller said.
